When I first thought about starting this blog I wanted to do it because of my interest
in the Davidson area. My parents lived in this area when I was born in 1939 and we
lived there until 1944. The house we lived in belonged to Mr John Beasley, the father
of Wade Beasley. Daddy raised cotton on the land. Down the road on the same side
lived my grandparents Andrew and Ada Jackson. Across the road from them was a
church. I attended there with my parents. Before it was a church it was a school
house, Aunt Marjorie Beasley and my mother were twin sisters and the attended
school in this building. The building is no longer there.
Next to our house to the left facing the house was a large faded red barn at the inter-
section of Hwy 8 and Hwy---. Across the road and up the road was the house and
farm of Mr. John Beasley and his wife Lizze. Keep going north and there was a store
on the rignt side of the road. Go another ¼ mile and you come to the Davidson
Church and the Watts Cemetery. Behind this cemetery was the Watts Plantation. My
greatgrand father George Washngton Hambrice bought tthis place in 18--. They lived
there about two years and the house burnt. George then built a house across from the
church. George owned a store and was postmaster and his wife Emmy delivered the
mail. George sent his children to----for a better education.
